"What Happens When I Call?" Print handout.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We encourage everyone to have this number in their phone whether they face mental illness or not because you never know when you'll find yourself in a crisis situation.

Sometimes texting is easier than calling. This is another 24/7 crisis number we want to encourage you to keep in your phone. This line isn't only for suicide - you can text this number for any painful emotion for which you need support.
